Jacob Newkirk posted this video from WEHT’s morning newscast where you can see the anchors devote over a minute to pitching McDonalds’s McCafe mocha drinks.
So much for journalistic integrity I guess. If fear-basednewsteases aren’t going to pay the bills, McDonalds will.
WNIN, the fine public radio television and radio station that puts me on the air each week, is expanding its television offerings to include content from The Indiana Channel, a new collaboration between the eight Indiana PBS stations that comprise IPBS.
The goal of the Indiana Channel going forward is to air content that is relevant to Indiana residents as well as to share locally produced content amongst the member stations. It’s possible that shows like WNIN’s Newsmakers will have the opportunity to reach audiences in Bloomington, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis or elsewhere around the state.
You can check out the content from 3PM to 6PM on WNIN digital channel 9.2.
When I gripe about a local news story it has to do with ABC25. Their needless fear mongering promos and news teases drive me insane.
All is forgiven because of the hiring of Randall Parmley to do sports. Anyone with a fauxhawk and a striking resemblance to Chuck Liddell is OK by me. You guys can have as many unncessary child safety stories as you want from now one.
Just saw this posted up on DSLReports. The highlight for me would be the NFL Network moving to the standard HD lineup, but you might also be interested in some of the other channels.
ABC Family HD on channel 864
Disney Channel HD on channel 865
NFL Network will be moving from the HD Pak to the HD lineup on WOW! Digital Basic Cable and remain on channel 821.
Still no word on NFL Network games actually being shown on WOW sadly. The new channels are definitely geared towards the younger demo, and WOW’s lineup is still far behind what Insight is planning to offer in the coming weeks/months.
I honestly thought about just posting the picture and letting it speak for itself, but what the hell. I’ll talk about it.
Meet George and Amyie (no that’s not a typo), the Francisco Indiana natives who will be featured this Saturday night at 8PM on CMT’s My Big Redneck Wedding. For those without the trusty cable TV, My Big Redneck Wedding is exactly what you think it is: stereotypical hayseed families gettin’ hitched at farms.
So what can you expect should you set your TiVo for this holiest of matrimony? Jell-O wrestling obviously and since I assume Dale Jr was unavailable, only go-kart and lawn mower races. There is also an appearance by a former Jerry Spring guest.
The happy hayseed couple met at an Evansville Gay Bar and have been in love ever since.
Crack open that case of Busch Light, snap on the McCain/Palin button and plop down in front of your TV for some good, ole fashion, redneck fun.
Speaking of Newburgh, the little city next door was featured on a recent episode of A&E’s Paranormal State. The show is a docu-drama that follows the Penn State Paranormal Research Society as they investigate paranormal activity.
Hillary and her nine-year-old son Hunter are being harassed by a shadow presence in their Victorian home in Newburgh, Indiana. Trap doors in the basement reveal artifacts from a bygone era, and the clients have recorded persistent strange noises. Psychic Kim Russo taps into a dangerous game of hide and seek while chilling new EVPs pose the question, “Can you get us back?” Ryan and PRS delve into this house of secrets.
The episode originally aired back in September, but you can get it on iTunes. Check it out.
This week looks to be the busiest yet for fall season premieres. I am looking forward to Dexter tonight and Friday Night Lights on Wednesday thought it is on DirecTV so I will have to find alternative ways to view it.
Last years season of Heroes was a major letdown. Boring story. I’m going to give it another chance, but I fear the show is finished. Oh yeah, and I cancelled my Fringe season pass. 1.5 episodes and I realized that science on TV is boring. Plus I loathe gross out TV.
