Evansville’s Christmas Decoration Hit List

With Christmas and the plethora of other winter holidays coming up, houses and offices around the area are strapping on lights, decorating trees and planting awful blow up decorations in their front yards.
For many years we’ve had the Fantasy of Lights for a nice driving tour of lights, but I’m more interested in finding the best decorated houses and businesses in the area.
If you know of or live near a well decorated area (or an overly tacky display), pipe up in the comments and let me know and we can work on building a map of the area’s best decorations. If you’ve got pictures of the place, post them in the comments.

I’ll start the list. The Old National headquarters has a really tasteful display out front. Real nice looking to drive by after dark.
no no no, straight up, go to Oregon St., its ridiculous! You can’t even see the house for the most part because there are so many decorations, and each yet it gets BIGGER

(It’s on Oregon St., past the highway, between North Main and I believe North Garvin St. but basically, if you get on Oregon St. there’s no way you’ll miss it, if you do miss it, you are definitely blind and deaf because its huge, bright, loud, and all around ostentatious–but GREAT)
back when i was a kid, mulzer always put lights on all of the evergreens that line their fence. now the trees have grown so big it must not be worth the hassle. so they just have two plastic trees outside of their gate. classy.
and yes, the view of ONB’s tree from the riverfront is wonderful.
I recommend the Oregon St. location as well.
I live in some apartments on the east side, and my downstairs neighbor gets very excited during the holidays. Every. Holiday. He has huge blow up things. This Christmas, he decided he needed a gaudy Christmas tree that plays Christmas music. Loudly. I can hear it all over my house.
I thought about grabbing the speakers and throwing them in a puddle…but I haven’t done that.
I’m not a scrooge or anything, but come on. We live in apartments.
Andrew! You’re a mean one… Mister Grinch!
No, that would drive me crazy as well.
Next to Bosse High School on lodge ave(between Washington and Bellemeade).
My neighbor on Taylor Ave, across from Akin Park(Between Kentucky ave and 41).
For as long as I can remember, a landmark on the west side of Evansville has always been Hillside Drive. Several of the homes on this short street put forth quite the display every year.

I know that Bosse high one, but I swear in the last 3-5 years its been a lot less decorated than I remembered.
I have two tips and both are on the Westside.
On the corner of Red Bank and Upper Mt. Vernon Rd. there is a beautifully decorated house (behind the church.
Heartland Ridge subdivison (off of Hogue Rd close to Eickhoff) has a whole street (North Faith Way) full of decorated houses. It really looks like a wonderland!
Can you put a list of decorated houses/streets on your website please?
There is a big (and free) display at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Fairgrounds.
I’m sorry but anyone who puts 6 or 7 blow up decorations on their lawn isn’t decorating.
I part time at this bar, and a neighbor down the street was always complaining about the loud music. Now she has one of those inflatable that blasts music 24 hours per day.
I’m glad I don’t live next to it, because those things wouldn’t stay inflated for long.
Besides that, I think inflatables are the laziest decorations ever…Oregon St…now there is someone who is creative.
Some photos of Christmas Lights I took a couple of days ago
and a few I took back in 2000 with my first digital camera
