I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!
If you’re looking for a night at the theatre this weekend or next, head down to the Evansville Civic Theatre. They are into their 83rd season and currently doing a production of Joe DiPietro’s “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.” The show had a long off-Broadway run in NYC, and now our wonderful local talent is bringing it to light here in Evansville. It opened last weekend and continues until the 28th of September.
This musical celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum know as “the relationship.” Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage, while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set. The show features a cast of two men and women playing multiple roles.
Upcoming shows this season will include The Sunshine Boys, Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings, Tuesdays With Morrie and more. The Civic Theatre is a great part of our community, so go out and support them.
If you are planning on going, curtain is at 8PM (2PM for a Matinee). For information on Season Tickets and individual ticket pricing call 812-425-2800.

I went to see this on opening night last weekend and had a blast. I highly recommend it to anyone, even if you’re not normally a theatre buff. The show is downright hilarious, plain and simple. If you want to laugh your butt off for a couple hours, don’t miss it!
