American Idol Coming to Evansville

I was recently informed that people still watch American Idol. Who knew? The latest cast of wannabe pop stars has been on a summer long tour of the US so that housewives and their children can see their favorite contestant live and in person.

I’m not exactly sure of the appeal of a live concert featuring these people and a catalog of Neil Diamond songs. The one season I watched the show, it was mainly for the enjoyment of Simon Cowell crushing the dream of a potential young starlet. Now that the show has jumped the shark a bit with, the dancing, sideshow and lip syncing variations, I just can’t get too excited about this stuff.

If you wanna go, it’s Thursday night, 7PM, at Roberts Stadium. Tickets run from $35 to $70. Last I heard there were still some good seats left, so grab ‘em up.
