RIP West Side Starbucks
Huffington Post has the listings of all 600 Starbucks stores that will be closed. Only one store in Evansville is on the list and it’s the one on the west side. I never went to the West side Starbucks much, but I’m sure it will be missed.
Are there any decent coffee joints on the West side that Starbucks people can migrate to?

I loved that starbucks! When I was a student at USI I would go and read there. They had a community book shelf where people could leave and take books, and all sorts of games too. It was also a good place to study for finals because it was the ONLY place on the west side open 24 hours a day. I imagine this had to do with USI opening a Starbucks on campus, but it had such wacky hours it was hard to get a cup of coffee on the weekends. They also had a meeting room that could be scheduled.
It’s also crazy because they just did a few thousand dollars worth of rehab on their asphalt parking lot. They weren’t listed on the original list too, so this closing is one of the extra 16 added after. (the total is 616 now.)
It’s a sad starbuckers day.

The Steak and Shake and Denny’s are no longer open 24/7?

they are still open 24 hrs but studying there would be almost impossible. I’d would have rather gone to the furniture section of walmart.

Sker, way to show your awesomeness by raging against the new world order of coffee. You go, dude!

“Awesomeness”? LOL
Okay, but seriously…what did we do for coffee before all the designer label shops? We went to cafes, got a large coffee, then on to the library. You want 24 hour availability? Why? Shouldn’t you sleep sometime?

I’d gladly go somewhere else if there were better options. Google shows there are three coffee shops/cafe’s that are not Starbucks in this town. The only one whose drinks I actually enjoy is Penny Lane. Driving from Newburgh to downtown isn’t realistic. Plus their wifi access is spotty at best.

I’d gladly go somewhere else if there was a better option. I just grow tired of the anti-Starbucks sentiment just for the sake of being anti-Starbucks.

Has anyone tried Brian and Bean. I love their coffee and their shop. In the winter they have a nice fire burning. Its very peaceful in there. Also, close to Newburgh.
