Mesker’s New Amazonia Looks Great

The first post I ever wrote on It’s Evansville was about Mesker Zoo and their new Amazonia exhibit. Amazonia’s goal is to recreate the South American rain forest experience in Evansville. VisitIndiana recently got a tour of the new exhibit and shared some of their photos on Flickr. This looks really neat.

When people walk in to this place they’re going to think “We actually have something like this IN EVANSVILLE.” I took a tour of it a few months back when they only had a fraction of the plants in. I can only imagine how great its going to look once it is done.

….plus it totally makes me think of Biodome with Pauly Shore…which I have seen, unfortunately.

Too bad they scapped the restaurant idea. What a great place or a rainforest cafe.
