Music Spotlight: Paul Osburn
What’s the name of your band and what’s the origin of it?
Paul Osburn. This is simply just my name. You can thank my parents for it.
How long have you been playing?
I have played guitar for about 4 or 5 years. I have been working on this solo project for a little under a year
What’s your history?
I started playing guitar when my dad was out of town on a business trip over the summer of my 7th grade year. I wanted to learn how to play guitar, so i got out my dads guitar and a few chord books/charts. This is how i learned my basic chords. Before too long i was putting these chords together and writing my first song.
What type of music do you prefer playing?
Acoustic, but I also enjoy all kinds of music.
What band(s) do you most sound like?
Backseat Goodbye, Ladybug Landslide, Secondhand Serenade.
Where is the best place to play in town and why?
The best place to play in town is Boney Junes. This is a great venue! It was amazing sound and a good crowd. It is also a nice, clean facility.
What is your favorite song to play live? Why?
My favorite song to play live is “The Wreck”. This song is just fun because many people sing along when i play it. Also this song has a lot of meaning behind it. It is based on a guy and girl relationship, where the guy wants to tell this girl how he feels about her. The guy struggles to tell her and then finally it is too late, the opportunity has past.
What are your musical aspirations?
I would like to do this as my living. I understand how the music business works so I will always have a back up if this fails.
Where can we see you play around town?
You can see me play at Boney Junes, Wired Coffee House, Internet Cafe (Computer Solutions), Starbucks, and others soon to come.
