Weekend Hangover Wrapup

Let’s catch up on some stuff that happened while we were gone over the weekend.

The 10th annual Howey Politics Indiana Top 50 list has put Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel at number 14 for 2008. They anticipate that he will make a run for the governor in 2012. [WFIE]

People are pitching ideas for what to do with the renovated Old Courthouse. For example, one suggestion is to turn the landmark into a retail incubator. [C&P]

A state constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage doesn’t look like it is going to see the light of day. [ABC25]

There is a bill in the Indiana legislature that will that would require any projects over $7 million would require approval at a local referendum. That could put a wrinkle in the proposed renovations (or replacement) of Roberts Stadium. [C&P]
