Farewell Duck Inn?

News came out today that the Duck Inn is planning to close its doors on January 28. The music venue isn’t closing for lack of customers. Instead Brian Siebers, one of the owners, said it has become overwhelming to manage the club on his own.
The Duck is currently for sale, so this might all be for nothing. I’ve never been there personally, but I’m sure some of It’s Evansville’s readers frequent the establishment. Are you going to miss the place?

The place itself is a bit of a dive BUT- the only place around that brings in good bands (bonepony, jeff hardesty, mock orange, chris shaffer/why store etc… I hope somebody picks up the slack for original music.

i went on college night (tuesdays) because of free cover and dollar drafts, thinking i’d see more college kids there. the only college age people there were always the people i brought with me.. it was never a “clean crowd”, if you understand my attempt at political correctness.
i never went on any night except tuesdays, so if other nights were better, good for that.

August 2nd, Official CD release party @ the DUCK INN for the Regional Metal band DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
Support original music.
Only place in Evansville for Original Music on a weekend.
If you want top 40 cover bands…..go somewhere else.
DJ’s, Kareoke, and Cover bands, and lazy crowds are killing the artist.
