Local Video: Evansville Slumlord
This is genius. A few UE kids were frustrated that their offcampus apartment was falling apart and were tired of dealing with their landlords refusal to repair any of it. They decided to invite the landlord over, videotape the home tour with him and publish it to YouTube. There are four parts, but this first ten minutes should be enough to get the point across.

This happens all too often in the UE area for some reason. Especially in the university owned housing adjacent to campus. I hear they’re beginning to take care of that though, mostly by just tearing places down they’re so bad. Youtube is an interesting tactic.
bravo to the UE students. very entertaining–sorry it’s at their expense. thanks for sharing on itsevansville.
I didn’t realize it before, but I’ve actually been in this house. Several years ago, some of my friends rented it over a summer. And it wasn’t in good shape then. I can’t imagine what it is like now.
I posted these videos, but to show some decency, I removed them when he asked me to. He is now threatening me with a lawsuit, but until it actually happens, I will leave them down. While I told him I would take them down, I will be more than happy to send them to anyone who would still like to see them or do anything else with them. Thankyou for your support!
He only wants you to take them down because he knows he’s wrong. If he was doing the right thing, he wouldn’t be so embarrassed by the videos. Congrats to you guys–lawsuit or not. Sounds like he’s finally getting the idea. =)
