NFL Network & WOW! Cable: FIGHT

I think it’s ridiculous that I’m unable to watch the Packers/Cowboys game on the NFL Network right now, but I can appreciate that WOW at least wrote its FAQ on the situation without any sort of PR speak. I wish more companies would speak like humans instead of corporate robots.
Q: This is a ridiculous situation. We customers are being caught in the middle and all you guys are doing is pointing fingers at each other. Are you going to fix this situation for me or not?
A: We do want to be able to provide customers with the programming that they want to see. However, we also need the NFL Network to provide us with options that are fair and reasonable, which they have not. We too are frustrated, but at this time we will not be able to air these games. We do not have any indications that this situation will change in the immediate future.

The controversy over this is only good for the NFL, despite the fact that they’re the one demanding exorbitant rates for programming that’s only relevant (live games) for roughly 25% of the year. The rest of their programming is NFL films stuff, commentary, and COLLEGE FOOTBALL NEWS.
Average Joes will blame the cable companies, because they’re the only ones they deal with on a regular basis (they certainly don’t get a monthly invoice from the NFL). If you were to replace the letters NASCAR for NFL in “NFL Network,” and had a similar set of circumstances for, let’s say, the Daytona 500, there would be another civil war.
Just kidding. Sort of.

Insight HD is going to kill WOWWay when Insight 3.0 rolls out. It adds NFL Network of course National Geographic, Animal Planet, TLC, Discovery and TBS. The Discovery now is the Discovery Home Theater. DiscoveryHD will be the same as the Discovery Channel Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs.
More editions are listed on the 3.0 Channel guide: http://insightcom.com/documents/printlineup/evansville.pdf
