On the 2nd anniversary of the Tornado, FEMA just gave Vanderburgh County a $312,000 grant to help pay for the inspection and retrofitting of anchor straps on more than 2800 homes. [Indy Star]

Former Yankees manager Joe Torre signed on to take the helm of the LA Dodgers. He’ll be taking his bench coach, and Evansville native, Don Mattingly with him. Speculation is that Mattingly will be groomed to succeed Torre as manger when he retires. [WFIE]

The polls are open and turnout is expected to be low. There were 2000 absentee ballots cast, which is down 1500 from 2003. [C&P]
