Pregaming Election Day: A Voting Checklist

The end of this years political season is near. After Tuesday, we’ll know if Jonathan Weinzapfel will be reelected (does anyone think he won’t be?), whether Sewers Before Stadium is a successful campaign platform and rid of campaign ads for at least 6 months. We thought it appropriate to give you a few pointers before heading down to your local precinct.
If you’re planning on voting (and you should be), the first thing you’ll want to do is ensure you have proper identification. You will need an official photo ID to vote on Tuesday. If you don’t have one, the BMV will be open Monday from 8:30AM to 8PM and Tuesday from 6AM to 7PM. To get the ID card, you’ll need three ways of proving you are who you are and live where you live. Grab your birth certificate or passport, a pay stub, and proof of residency. Confused? Check out PhotoID.IN.gov
Once you’ve secured your proper identification, you’ll want to do is make sure you are even eligible to vote. The easiest way to do this is IndianaVoters.com. The site will allow you to check your voter status and find where your precinct is located. If you’d rather talk to a live body, call the Indiana Voter Help Hotline at 1-866-IN-1-VOTE. Employees of the Secretary of State’s office will staff the line between 5AM. to 6PM Evansville time on election day.
Starting Wednesday it is full steam ahead for the presidential election. Vote early and vote often people!
