Newburgh Fiddler Fest This Weekend

Living in Newburgh most of my life, one of the signs that fall is upon is is the annual Newburgh Fiddler Fest. The Fiddler Fest is when the Evansville area descends upon downtown Newburgh to enjoy live music and fiddler and catfish dinners. 2007 marks the 27th year for thew annual festival and will feature much of the same types of activities you are used to. Besides the delicious fiddler dinners, the festival features a beer garden to help with your social lubricating.
Throughout the weekend there will be live music and other events. Live music will feature Mike Libs and Avalanche Rose, Kelly Chandley and Nine O’clock Curfew, Pat Coslett and Company, Byron Rohrig and more. There will also be an amateur talent show and open mic session on Saturday.
The Fiddler Fest starts Friday night at 5PM and runs until Sunday at 10PM.

I’m fairly new to the area (or at least I’ve only frequented Newburgh in the last year or so.) Could anyone elaborate on this for me? I’m all about small town festivals and the such. They almost always have some great food to try out, and some interesting entertainment. What can I expect?
Just your typical stuff: food booths, live music, I think some carnival games. It’s by no means the fall festival, but it’s fun for an afternoon.
@Justin,
I see, thanks!
Albion, IL (my hometown, just across the border) hosts “Pork Day USA” every year. They have a greased pig catching game (real pigs, but young ones) for the kids (and some adults). If you think it sounds hard, it is. Always fun to watch. And try a pork burger. Horrible for your heart, but tastes great.
I might just have to run over the Newburgh this weekend and check things out.
