Welcome to Hell. It’s Hot Here.
In case you’re a recluse, you’ve no doubt been outside for a moment and been assaulted by the awful heatwave we’ve been experiencing for the past few weeks. Needless to say, the weather has been downright miserable.
Knowing that the majority of It’s Evansville readers are under 45, you’ll be happy to know that yesterday was the hottest day of your life. The official thermometer at Evansville Regional Airport recorded 104 degrees at 3:22PM, making it the hottest day since July 13, 1966. Wednesday was the fourth time the temperature has gone above 100 degrees just this month.
The heat wave should ease off by the weekend, but not before we equal or beat another record on Thursday. The current record of 100 degrees was set in 1988.
This stinks.

I’m honestly tired of dealing with it. So I have sadly become a recluse! Come on September!

Better than the record sub zero temps we had in February.

I don’t know jerry, I personally would prefer to freeze to death versus die of heatstroke. It’s the same on the gamble sure; just my preferred option.
I was hot enough already, and then Vectren announced it’s rate hike. RAGE
Since I can’t think of anything to say about that that doesn’t involve them, the pit of hell, and torture for all eternity, I’ll just let it go.

I personally prefer the colder weather vs. the heat …. you can always throw on a hoodie or something to keep warm, but you can only remove so much before you get arrested for running around stark naked
Not to mention you can get a nice cozy fire going in the winter if you have a fireplace, and Vectren won’t be able to get a dime from that!

Mike is right on, and I think we’re going to see more homes being built with fireplaces, and fireplaces being added when remodels/flips are being done.
