Evansville’s Twin Bridges Deemed Safe

Comments | Add A Comment

By now you’ve heard about the bridge collapse in Minneapolis Wednesday afternoon. That tragedy has caused local people to question the safety of the Evansville/Henderson twin bridges. The twin bridges are older than the bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis. All Kentucky and Indiana bridges are inspected every two years.

Beyond these 2 year inspections, major rehab projects such as the one currently taking place on the Twin Bridges occur every 20 years to repaint the bridge and replace the joints.

In other words, Kentucky and Indiana officials don’t want you to be paranoid about crossing our bridges. Are you concerned with the safety of the Twin Bridges?
