Meet EVIE the Non-Littering Mascot

I’ll admit when I first saw the headline about EVIE, the new mascot for Keep Evansville Beautiful, I was ready to completely trash it (no pun intended). I was imagining something along the lines of the Philly Phanatic doing a dance down Franklin Street during the Fall Festival.

As I clicked through and saw the picture of EVIE, I breathed a sigh of relief. EVIE is an adorable yellow labrador retriever who, along with his book, will help spread the word around town about how important it is to not litter. EVIE’s book, Retrieving With EVIE, is designed to teach young kids why they shouldn’t litter. You can purchase a copy for $13 from Keep Evansville Beautiful (812-425-4461).

I personally hope EVIE chases down every person I see using our roads as their own personal ash tray. Stop throwing your cigarette butts at my car!
