In Other News…

Interesting news has been slow going the past few days. Here’s some of the highlights though.
- With Sunday’s cigarette tax hike, smokers are puffing their way over to Kentucky for cheap smokes.
- President Bush commuted the sentence of Lewis “Scooter” Libby yesterday. That basically means that he doesn’t have to go to jail after being sentenced to 30 months for lying and obstructing the investigation into the 2003 leak of CIA operative Valerie Plame’s identity. I’ll keep my opinion to myself to prevent inciting a comment riot.
- The foot slashing Kentucky Kingdom ride still remains shut down. No word on the girl’s condition though.
- We told you a few months ago that USI was thinking about a tuition hike. Well, it’s now in effect. In state tuition increased $271 dollars while out of state costs increased $287 for the academic year. USI is still the cheapest four-year school in the state.
