Boehne Camp Lives On: More Information

A few weeks ago we got a report that Boehne Camp’s main building was being renovated into luxury apartments. The Courier & Press took that ball, and got some more information on the project. The project is being spearheaded by Scott and Rene Anderson who have experience with renovating old treasures around town. Their past projects include the old jail, the old Eagles Lodge and the old General Cigar building.
The Boehne Camp project will put in six luxury apartments ranging from 1800 to 2000 square feet. Rent will be in the range of $1000 a month. I’m not sure what the Courier’s policy is with me using their photographs, so be sure to click through and check out the neat shots the Courier Photography got of the insides of the building. It’s completely gutted.
Anyone wanting to move in to one of these?

Great! If I could afford it, I’d totally live there. Too bad there wasn’t much of an opportunity to get pictures before they renovated it.

i honestly dont think i could live in that building. it’s kinda creepy. and for $1000 they better be damn nice apartments. i’m kinda upset they tore the “adult” hospital down. That builinding contributed to evansville’s personality and it had history we shouldnt have destroyed.

First, I am very angry at all of this! Ok despite the fact that I truly have a hankering for the abby-normal and well ghosts and such—-I can not believe that yet another thing from our history has been erased!
Second, I am sick and tired of all the people here owning such things that have no business owning them in the first place! NO RESPECT!
Third, with the homeless problem here in Evansville why the heck are we gonna build for more rich people when that could have been used for a homeless shelter!
I am sure the ghost of the “Good Doctor” would have wanted it that way to begin with! Thumbs down!
Excellent reporting on all ends! All though think about this, any man who decides to paint his establishment hot bright orange—-should never have had the chance to own such an incredible peace of history! BOOOO!
