It’s a slow news day today. Here’s what’s happening.
- 20 year old Jason Alexander was killed when his vehicle hit a stopped train yesterday morning (yes, he ran into the train. Not vice versa). Witnesses said Alexander had been driving wrecklessly just before his vehicle collided with the train.
- The Indiana House voted Monday to restrict when and where people can shoot off fireworks. The bill restricts the use of fireworks to only 8 specific days of the year, but also leaves local governments open to restrict other days. The bill now returns to the State senate.
- The warm, sunny weather has passed and a major string of thunderstorms is heading for Evansville this afternoon. The National Weather Service has put most of the state under a moderate risk for severe storms. As with any storm, it brings a cold front so look for freezing temperatures tomorrow.
- Now that Florida head basketball coach Billy Donovan has won his second straight national championship, Kentucky is looking to offer him their head coaching position. If I had just won two national championships in Sunny Florida, I don’t think the lure of Kentucky would get me out of that situation. Why leave when you’re a god?
