Protesters Targeting Vectren

Step It Up Evansville, a local environmentalist group is planning to rally at the river front April 14 at 4pm to demand that Vectren stop building coal plants in Southern Indiana. The energy company is planning to build a new plant in Edwardsport, Indiana, which will be the focus of this rally.
The protest will begin at the Four Freedoms monument and conclude with a march down the river front to the new Vectren headquarters.
Step It Up is a national campaign with events going on in several cities around the nation. On April 14, all of these groups will meet at meaningful spots in their respective town and rally for their cause. In our case, it’s Vectren’s use of cole-fired power plants.
If you’re interested in helping construct signs for the rally, head to Penny Lane Coffee House at 2pm.
